PUENTE is pleased to announce that The Plant at 60 Valley Street in the Olneyville neighborhood of Providence has been awarded the 2007 Providence Preservation Society’s Preservation Award for Adaptive Reuse/ Neighborhood Revitalization.

Specifically, The Plant has over 26,000 sq ft of commercial space, 5 live/sell units, and 24 live/work units ranging from 500 sq ft to 3,500 sq ft that offer ultimate flexibility to meet the needs of small business people and artists who want to work at home. The Plant now has many creative residential and business tenants including Cuban Revolution restaurant. Space at The Plant will also be donated to the Nickerson Community Center and the TruSkool arts program. The Plant’s interior Courtyard is available for tenant and community use and the smokestack on site has been enhanced by local artist, Gillian Christy’s artwork “Embrace”. The Plant’s location also offers tenants the benefits of being in an Enterprise Zone and Artist Tax-Free Zone.
